Autopilot has saved a man, sending it to the hospital in time.
Recently, the self-driving cars have been criticized because of multiple traffic accidents involving the electric vehicles Tesla, but the case of the 37-year-old American lawyer Joshua Neilly and his crossover Tesla Model X proves that an autopilot has its obvious and invaluable benefits.
According to the “Slate”, Mr. Neilly was on his way home to Branson from his office in Springfield, Missouri, on the 26th of July. After driving about five miles from the point of departure, he felt a growing chest pain and call his wife to ask for advice. His caring wife has told him that he must immediately to go to the hospital, but since Neilly couldn’t drive himself, he decided to use autopilot.
The car has successfully driven 20 miles to the nearest hospital offline. There the doctors have provided the necessary assistance to the driver. It turned out that he had an attack of a pulmonary embolism, and he could easily die, if he wouldn’t be sent to the hospital quickly. So, the decision not to wait for an ambulance and go to the hospital on autopilot has literally saved his life.
